Extremely Rare - 1997 Iggy The Iguana - Beanie Baby - 3rd Variation
There are many variations of Iggy the Iguana and Rainbow the Chameleon and the 2 beanies often cause confusion. It is erroneously thought that they were miss tagged, Iggy as Rainbow and vice versa, but in fact they were tagged correctly. Iggy is Iggy and Rainbow is Rainbow.
It was their fabric that was mixed up. Iggy had Rainbow’s fabric at first. Rainbow had Iggy’s fabric at first, a blue/green, but logic tells you that Rainbow should be rainbow colored.
Iggy – 3rd Variation – Tie-dyed, with tongue, Pastel color, stamp inside tush tag is perpendicular to writing on outside of tush tag OR Sherbet or Neon color, stamp inside tush tag is parallel to writing on outside of tush tag.
Errors:
Tie-dyed in bright greens, pinks, yellows, purples and oranges (rather than dark blue color- factory workers mixed up fabrics for this beanie baby with that of "Rainbow" the Chameleon)
5th Gen Swing Tag, 6th Gen Tush Tag
Oak Brook misspelled as Oakbrook on Swing Tag and Tush Tag
Swing Tag includes Fareham, Hants inside, which indicates limited edition (RARE)
Extra space before (!) at the end of the poem in the Swing Tag
TY INC., should read Ty Inc.
Has Red Star next to “ty” Heart
1965 (KR) if for Korean Market (RARE)
P.E. Pellets
Red stamp inside Tush Tag Loop (400), indicating which factory it came from.
